Our Story
Made by hand, with sunshine inside
Terra Collective started with one sardine, painted as a birthday present, and a friend asking where she could buy one.
where it all began
Modern Portuguese, made by hand
We love the things Portugal has always made well: glossy glazes, azulejo blues, woven palm and tinned fish in beautiful packaging. We design pieces that feel fresh and bright, then make them with the workshops that know these crafts best.
Our ceramics are fine glazed stoneware, pressed and painted in family studios in Caldas da Rainha and Lisbon. Our straw bags are woven by a family of weavers in the Alentejo. Our playing cards are printed in Porto.
Small batches, fair pay
We make in small batches and restock often, so nothing is wasted. Every maker sets their own price, and we pay it.
From clay to glaze
1. Press
White stoneware is pressed by hand into moulds we carve ourselves.
2. Paint
Scales, stripes and flowers painted freehand, never traced.
3. Glaze
A second firing at 1,200°C gives the deep, glassy shine.
